BENGALI STANDARDI (FIFe)
YLEISTÄ
Bengali on kotikissa, joka fyysisesti muistuttaa pientä metsässä asuvaa Felis Bengalensis
tai Aasian leopardikissaa. Kissa joka on ulkonäöltään 'villi' ja samalla
kertaa omaa kotikissan rakastettavan lempeän luonteen. Valpas olemukseltaan.
Bengali on hoikka ja lihaksikas. Koko: keskikokoisesta suureen.
PÄÄ
Muoto: leveähkö muunneltu kiila, pyöreästi kaartuvin ääriviivoin,
suhteiltaan pidempi kuin leveämpi. Ikuisella uroksella sallitaan leveämmät
posket.
Koko: hieman pienempi suhteessa vartaloon, ei kuitenkaan saa olla
viety äärimmäisyyteen.
Profiili:
pehmeästi kaartuva otsa nenäsiltaan, hyvin lievästi alaspäin koverasti
kaartuva nenäsilta.
Nenä:
suurehko ja leveä, nenän iho hieman koholla. Nenäsilta kohoaa silmien
yläpuolelle.
Posket: korkeat esiintulevat poskiluut.
Kuono: täyteläinen ja leveä, suurin esiintulevin viiksityynyin.
KORVAT
Muoto: keskikokoisesta pieneen, matalat korvat, leveä korvan tyvi ja
pyöristyvät kärjet. Kevyehkö vaakasuor karvoitus sallitaan, mutta tupsut
eivät ole toivottuja. Peukalonjälki takana suotaavaa.
Sijoittuminen: Asettuneet etäälle toisistaan, seuraten ja jatkaen
edestäkatsoen kasvojen linjaa, osoittaen eteenpäin sivuprofiilissa.
SILMÄT
Muoto: soikeat. saattavat olla lievästi mantelinmuotoiset. Suuret
mutta eivät pullistuneet.
Sijoittuminen:
asettuneet leveälle, hieman kallistuneet lievästi korvien kantaa.
NISKA
Tukeva ja lihaksikas, pitkä ja suhteessa vartaloon.
VARTALO
Muoto: pitkä ja and substantial, suuri suhteessa päähän, ei
orientaalinen tai itämainen. Tukeva luustorakenne, ei koskaan siro. Hyvin
lihaksikas, erityisesti urokset; is
one of the features. Takaosa on hieman korkeampi kuin olkapäät.
JALAT
Keskipitkät, hieman pidemmät taka- kuin etujalat. Hyvin lihaksikkaat, ei
koskaan sirot. Tassut: suuret ja pyöreät.
HÄNTÄ
Paksu, ohentuen kohti kärkeä, kärki pyöreä. Keskikokoinen, keskipitkä.
TURKKI
Rakenne: Lyhyestä keskipitkään. Pennuille sallitaan hieman pidempi
karva. Tuntuma on tiheä/tiivis, ylellisen tuntuinen, erityisen pehmeältä
sivellyksessä,kimalteleva. Väri: For colour varieties refer to the following tables.
YLEISKUNTO
Täydellinen fyysinen kunto, tasapainoinen niin fyysiseti kuin luonteeltaan/temperamentiltaan.
HUOMAUTUKSIA
Yleistä: Bengalin tulisi olla luottavainen/itsevarma, valpas, utelias
ja ystävällinen kissa. Registeröinti/kasvatus: Noviisikissoja ei
sallita. Bengalia ei saa risteyttää minkään muun rodun kanssa. Turkki:
Hiirenharmaa pohjaväri ei saa vaikuttaa arvosteluun.
VIAT
Pää: Itämaistyyppinen pään muoto. Turkki: Huomattavasti
tummempi naamioväritys (verrattaessa vartalon väritykseen kuvioissa)
himalajanaamio (Seal Lynx Point), burmanaamio (Seal Sepia) ja tonkineesinaamio
(Seal
Mink) Bengaleilla. Täplät vartalolla virtaavat yhdessä pystysuuntaisesti,
muodostaen makrilli tabby kuvion. Circular bull's eye pattern on marbles. Long or coarse coat.
Any distinct white locket on the neck, chest, abdomen or any other area not
provided for in the standard.
DISQUALIFICATION
Belly: not spotted. Paw pads: not all of the same colour; not
consistent with their colour group description. Tail: Tail tip not
black for colour vaheties n 26/28. Tail tip not dark seal to sable brown for
colour varieties 31/32/33.
SCALE OF POINTS
TOTAL: 100 points
Head (20): general shape, nose, muzzle and tteht, forehead, chin;
placement and shape of ears; neck.
Eyes (10): shape, placement and colour.
Body (25): size, shape, torso, shape of legs and feet, shape and length
of tail.
Coat (40): texture and colour (20), pattern and contrast (20).

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF COAT COLOUR

Pattern
22: Markings, while derived from the classic tabby gene. shall be
uniquely different with as little "bull's eye" similarity as
possible. Pattern shall, instead, be random, giving the impression of marble,
preferably with a horizontal flow when the cat is streched. Vertical striped
mackerel influence is undesirable.
Preference should be given to cats with 3 or more shades: i.e. ground colour,
markings and dark outlining of those markings.
Contrast with ground colour must be extreme, with distinct shapes and sharp
edges.
Belly must be spotted.
22 31/32/33: There should be little or no difference between the colour
of body markings and the point colour.
BENGAL SPOTTED - BEN 24 [31/32/33]
Pattern: For the description of the pattern refer to the General Part.
Spots shaft be random or aligned horizontally.
Rosettes formed by a pan circle of spots around a distinct redder centre are
preferable to single spotting, but not required.
Vertical stripes are undesirable.
Blotchy horizontal shoulder streaks are desirable.
24: Contrast with ground colour must be extreme, with distinct shapes
and sharp edges.
Strong bold chin strap and mascara markings are desirable.
Belly must be spotted.
24 31/32/33: There should be little or no difference between the colour
of markings on the body and colour of the points.
BENGAL MARBLED - BEN n22 [31/32/33]
BROWN (BLACK) MARBLED - EMS Code BEN n 22
Coat colour: Ground colour: Variations of yellow buff, tan,
golden or orange colour. Chin, chest, belly and inner legs show a cream-white
ground colour in contrast to flanks and back. Pattern: The markings are
virtually black, brown, tan or shades of chocolate or cinnamon.
Nose/Eye rims: Eyes, lips and nose are outlined with black, spectacles
encircling the eyes.
Nose leather: Brick red.
Paw pads: must be black.
Tail tip: must be black.
SEAL SEPIA MARBLED - EMS Code BEN n 22 31 and
SEAL MINK MARBLED - EMS Code BEN n 22 32
Coat colour: Ground colour: Ivory to cream. Pattern:
clearly visible. Various shades of sable to brown to bitter chocolate. Little
or no difference between colour of markings on the body and the colour of the
points.
Nose/Eye rims: Ivory cream spectacles, whiskerpads and chin are
desirable.
Nose leather: Brick red.
Paw pads: dark brown with rosy undertone allowed.
Tail tip: dark seal to sable brown.
SNOW MARBLED - EMS Code BEN n 22 33
Colour: Ground colour: Ivory to cream. Pattern: dark seal
brown, light brown, tan or buff. Little or no difference between colour of
markings on the body and colour of the points. Pattern as for n 22.
Nose/Eye rims: Light spectales, whiskerpads and chin.
Nose: Brick red.
Paw pads: dark seal brown.
Tail tip: must be dark seal brown.

BROWN (BLACK) SPOTTED - EMS Code BEN n 24
Colour: Ground colour: As for n 22. Pattern: refer to the

Nose/Eye rims: Eyes, lips and nose are outlined with black, spectacles
encircling the eyes.
Nose: Brick red.
